The scene of the play is the typical Santomean 'roça' (plantation estate). A plantation owner dies and leaves the property to his 4 sons (the clowns). They are careless and silly and soon have to get aid from the 'captain' and his men to protect their property from the evil sorcerer… We are offering you the possibility to go to Neves and see the enthusiastic group of dancers, Aliança Nova, perform in their own environment on the West Coast of the island. All dancers are fishermen and thus amateurs -this group was founded by the father of the present president, Manuel Fernandes. The tradition goes on.. |
